February: The Month of Love?

        A Wife's Gift

You should never feel guilty

for buying your wife a gift.

Especially,

if you've hardly ever given her a gift to begin with.

Feel bad about the sodas you buy.

All that money down the drain.

If instead you would drink a soda from home,

you could buy her a gift

without any shame.

She doesn't want a present

if it's linked to shame.

She doesn't want a present if it's linked to blame.

She does want a present

with thoughtfulness, love, and care.

She does want a present,

if buying it's not too much to bare.

Feel bad about McDonald's, Taco Bell, and all the fast food.

You're always ordering expensive extra items,

and spending more than the rest of your crew

Feel bad about getting upset

when your wife pays the bills.

She knows your checkbook,

and knows how it feels.

You don't need the green

for a gift to be seen.

With a little love and care,

you could give her a pear.

Just wrap it with a ribbon

saying you'll always be there.

It would mean more to her

than you could ever know,

just the fact that you wrapped it,

and topped it with a bow.
